edayathu.com is the private, non-commercial website of the Edayathu family of Kurianad, Kerala. It exists solely to help our own family stay connected. This page explains what information the site holds and how it is used.
What we collect
- Family records — names, family relationships, photographs, and important dates (birthdays, wedding anniversaries, remembrance days, and other family occasions), together with optional contact details (email address, WhatsApp number, city) that family members share with us themselves.
- Account details — the name, email address, and password used to create a members account. Passwords are stored only in securely hashed form by our login provider. Every account is approved personally by the family administrator.
- Messages — replies that family members send to the family's WhatsApp number or email address.
How it is used
- To display the private, members-only family tree, calendar, photo gallery, and news to approved family members.
- To send family greetings and announcements by email and WhatsApp — birthday and anniversary wishes, remembrance-day reminders, and messages from the family administrator.
- Nothing else. We do not sell, rent, or share family information with anyone. We show no advertising and use no tracking or analytics cookies. The only data stored in your browser is your language preference and sign-in session.
Where it lives
The website is hosted on Netlify. Emails are delivered through Resend, and WhatsApp messages through Meta's official WhatsApp Business Platform. Each of these processes data only as needed to deliver the service.
Your choices & data deletion
Any family member may ask, at any time, to see the information held about them, to correct it, or to have it removed entirely — including directory entries, tree entries, photographs, and account details. Write to info@edayathu.com and the family administrator will action it promptly. To stop receiving greetings, the same address is enough — or simply reply saying so.
